The PS5 Slim (CFI-2000) with 1 TB was a total hardware redesign, reducing volume by over 30% and weight by 18%. Its key technical advantage over the "Fat" was the SSD increase to 1000 GB, translating to roughly 848 GB of usable space (nearly 200 GB more than the 825 GB model). Visually, it stands out with its four independent cover panels (glossy top, matte bottom) and a black strip crossing the side. This model introduced the Detachable Disc Drive, allowing the digital version to be converted to a physical one later. It is considered the most balanced version in terms of storage-to-price before Sony decided to cut back on disk capacity.
