The Original PS5 (CFI-1000 Series) is known for its imposing asymmetrical design and large chassis, built to house a massive 120mm fan and a liquid metal heat sink. Its most discussed technical feature was the custom 825 GB SSD, a figure chosen by Sony to optimize bandwidth via a 12-channel interface, enabling speeds of 5.5 GB/s. This left users with only 667 GB of net space for games. Unlike later revisions, this model is the heaviest (4.5 kg for the disc version) and features a "Piano Black" glossy center panel flanked by the two large matte white covers we’ve previously analyzed.
